Cadet College Larkana Entry Test Guide — Pattern, Syllabus & Preparation
Established in 1992, Cadet College Larkana has grown into one of Sindh's most competitive cadet institutions, drawing applicants from across the province. Here is the written-test pattern behind its entry and how to prepare for it.
What is the Larkana Entry Test?
Cadet College Larkana inducts at Class VI or Class VIII levels depending on the year's advertisement, through a written test followed by an interview and a medical. The written paper is multiple-choice across Mathematics, English, General Science, Urdu with Islamiat, plus the Intelligence section that appears in cadet papers across the country.
What follows is drawn only from what this site publishes about Larkana. The section set follows the published Sindhi-region cadet-entry pattern as described in public admission guides — the college's own notice for the year defines the exact paper and marks. Which class is being inducted this year is announced by the college, so confirm it with the official admission notice.
Larkana Entry Test Sections — What Each One Covers
Five sections, each carrying roughly the same weight. There is no single subject you can win the test on — but there is always one you can lose it on.
Mathematics — Word Problems Decide the Top Places
Arithmetic, algebra basics, geometry and word problems.
The plain arithmetic questions are the ones you should never miss — they are method, not insight. Where candidates separate is the word problems: translating a sentence into an equation is a skill in itself, and it needs deliberate practice rather than more of the same arithmetic. Read every word problem twice before writing anything.
English — Grammar and Vocabulary Lift Fastest
Grammar, vocabulary and comprehension.
Grammar rules and vocabulary are the most improvable part of any cadet paper: finite, teachable, and testable in a week. Comprehension needs a slower habit — answer from your first read, then go back only where a question demands it. Always read the explanation, not just the tick.
General Science — Your Class 7 and 8 Books, Thought About Properly
Middle-school physics, chemistry and biology.
The syllabus is the one you have already studied, so the risk is not coverage — it is shallow coverage. Cadet questions ask you to apply one idea, not recite a definition. Work chapter by chapter and, for every topic, be able to explain in one sentence why it happens.
Urdu + Islamiat — The Quiet Section
Comprehension and grammar in Urdu; basic Islamiyat.
This section rarely gets study time, which is precisely why it moves candidates up the merit list. Urdu grammar is mechanical and Islamiyat at this level is recall — both respond to short daily sessions far better than to a long one the week before the test.
Intelligence — A Skill, Not a Syllabus
Verbal series, analogies, odd-one-out and patterns.
You cannot read your way through this section. Series, analogies and odd-one-out become fast only through repetition — the recognition arrives before the reasoning does. Ten questions a day, every day, from now until the test.
A Realistic 4-Week Study Plan
Week 1 — Diagnose
One diagnostic across all five sections before any revision. Then arithmetic and English grammar daily, plus ten Intelligence questions to start the habit.
Week 2 — Build breadth
Word problems and geometry, English vocabulary and comprehension, one science chapter a day. Begin the daily Urdu and Islamiat reading now.
Week 3 — Fix, don't revise
Re-attempt every question you got wrong in weeks 1 and 2 — that set is your personal syllabus. Keep the daily Intelligence and Urdu work running underneath.
Week 4 — Exam tempo
Full timed subject runs, and a review of accuracy and speed together. Aim to finish each run with a few minutes spare, not to use every last second.
Ten to fifteen focused questions a day beats a weekend of cramming — which matters more here than at most colleges, because Larkana's intake is genuinely competitive across the whole province.
How This Site Helps You Prepare
Every Larkana section above is a real subject you can practise here: pick Larkana in the practice selector and answer exam-style MCQs in Mathematics, English, General Science, Urdu, Islamiat and the Intelligence section, with explanations after every question. Per-subject accuracy tracking shows you which section is actually holding you back, and the free diagnostic is the fastest way to start.
The Honest Bottom Line
We publish only what we can source: the five-section pattern comes from the Larkana page on this site, which follows the published Sindhi-region cadet-entry shape. What we do not publish — the seat count, the admission deadline, the test date, which class is being inducted — is set by the college's own advertisement each year. Confirm those directly before you plan around them.
Prepare all five sections honestly and the paper stops being a gamble.
